Stop It

Stop It

We have a problem. Well...maybe I have a problem. I don't know.

All I know is that I have become increasingly irritated by anything relating to news, social media and politics. Maybe some of you can agree. Or...maybe it's just me.

Here's the thing. I like to use social media. I like to post random thoughts, share articles and like most of us, share opinions.

The growing irritation with social media, news and the like, is how we are making our opinions fact. We are turning them into hard and fast truths which cannot be questioned. There is no room for dialogue. No room for learning from others.

We have decided to use our platform as something in which we dig in our heels and fight to the bitter end.

As a cranky old man, can I give you some advice if you find yourself drawn into vocalizing your opinion without considering someone else's?

My advice: STOP IT.

Stop voicing your opinion as though it is the only answer.

Stop taking sides on issues that have no clear answer.

Stop engaging in stories that are only broadcast to bring division.

Just stop it.

Rant over.
