Well, we made it.
Somehow, some way....we made it.
2017 was quite a year. The world had its share of ups and downs and I suppose, like me, you did as well. Like most years, 2017 wasn't all bad...but it wasn't all good, either.
But just like that, we have a new year ahead of us. That's one thing I love about time...it is always moving forward. We can learn from the past (and we should), but we have some amazing opportunities ahead of us.
With that in mind, I want to mention something 2017 taught me, and it is something that I will try to carry with me in 2018.
The year is what you make of it.
We can each control our attitude toward the year, month, day, hour and minute. Everyday, I have the choice of what type of attitude I will have at work. Looking back on 2017, there were plenty of days where I chose to have a bad attitude. It was my choice. No one else's. As such, the challenge for me will be to make my attitude the best it can be in 2018.
There will be external factors that will influence me in 2018. There will be things that affect me, even thought they are out of my control. I can't avoid these external factors. What I can control, however, is my attitude when these times come.
Maybe if we could collectively learn to have positive, healthy attitudes toward life, the year wouldn't be as bad as it seems.
Here's to 2018.
One more thing....
I'm not a big New Year's Resolutions guy...but...I am a goal-setter. I love setting goals and trying to accomplish them. Being that type of guy, I decided to create my own goal sheet. This is designed to take you through a year's worth of goal-setting, broken down by quarter. If this is anything that would interest you, you can download it free, here.
