Peace is My Weapon

You've probably heard the saying, "stand for something or you'll fall for anything." There is a ton of truth in this statement, right? I mean, think about it...without having something to believe it, we will find nothing worth believing in. By choosing not to fight for anything, we have nothing worth fighting for.

In our current national climate, people are taking stands over everything. Lines are being marked, swords drawn...we are ready for a fight.

But what if we took a stand by taking a seat?

What if we choose to let peace be our weapon?

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
— Matthew 5:9 (ESV)

Sometimes we read over Jesus' message on the mountain and love to romanticize it. We love to call it "the way a Christ-follower should live." We love to analyze another believer's way of life against the Sermon on the Mount, but we often forget to analyze our own living.

So...back to peace.

Peacemakers are to be called sons of God. In a world that has become so devoid of peace, the logical assumption is that we are becoming a world that has fewer sons and daughters of God.

Notice I didn't say fewer church goers.

I want to be part of a world that brings peace back into existence. I want to be a child of God that serves to end war, infighting, domestic abuse, trafficking and anything else that would be anti-peace. I no longer want to concern myself with picking a side and would rather devote my efforts to bringing peace into a disruptive world.
